How to Find Your DBS/POSB Branch Code, Bank Code and SWIFT Code
Setting up a transfer to your DBS or POSB account from another bank? You’ll usually need the bank code, branch code and, for overseas transfers, the SWIFT code. Here are all three.
POSB accounts use the same branch code, 081, wherever you opened them, whether Tampines, Yishun or Clementi. There’s no POSB branch list to hunt through. DBS accounts are just as easy: the branch code is the first 3 digits of your account number.

Count the digits in your account number:
- 9 digits (POSB): your branch code is 081.

Which code do I need?
- Local transfers and GIRO: some banks ask for the bank code and branch code together, written as 7171-081 for POSB. Others only need the account number.
- Overseas transfers: use the SWIFT/BIC code DBSSSGSG. Some banks ask for the 11-character form, DBSSSGSGXXX. It’s the same code with a generic branch suffix.
- Routing number: Singapore banks don’t use routing numbers. That’s a US term, so use the bank code and branch code instead.
