Get Up to S$10 Just by Linking PayNow: Here’s How to Make Sure You Don’t Miss Out

If you already use PayNow or have always ignored that little prompt to “link your mobile or NRIC,” this is one of those times it can actually pay you—literally.

DBS/POSB is giving out up to S$10 cash when you link your mobile number and/or NRIC/FIN to your account via PayNow during 2026.

The catch? There are conditions, caps, and timing rules you’ll want to get right.

1. What’s this promo about?

This campaign runs from 1 Jan 2026 to 31 Dec 2026.

You can earn:

  • S$5 when you link your mobile number to your DBS/POSB account via PayNow
  • S$5 when you link your NRIC/FIN to your DBS/POSB account via PayNow

Do both, and you get S$10 in total.

Reward table (per person):

What you link via PayNow
Cash you get
NRIC/FIN + Mobile
S$10
NRIC/FIN only
S$5
Mobile only
S$5

You can only earn up to S$10 in total for the whole campaign.

2. Key condition: “No PayNow in the last 6 months”

This promo is not for existing PayNow users with DBS/POSB in the last 6 months before each Qualifying Period.

To join, you must:

  1. Be a DBS/POSB customer, and
  2. Have no PayNow registration with DBS/POSB in the 6 months before that Qualifying Period.

Each Qualifying Period has its own 6‑month “look-back” window:

  • 1 Jan – 28 Feb 2026
    • You must not have registered PayNow with DBS/POSB from 1 Jul – 31 Dec 2025.
  • 1 Mar – 30 Apr 2026
    • No PayNow registration from 1 Sep 2025 – 28 Feb 2026.
  • 1 May – 30 Jun 2026
    • No PayNow registration from 1 Nov 2025 – 30 Apr 2026.
  • 1 Jul – 31 Aug 2026
    • No PayNow registration from 1 Jan – 30 Jun 2026.
  • 1 Sep – 31 Oct 2026
    • No PayNow registration from 1 Mar – 31 Aug 2026.
  • 1 Nov – 31 Dec 2026
    • No PayNow registration from 1 May – 31 Oct 2026.

If you’ve already been using PayNow with DBS/POSB in those months, you won’t qualify for that period’s promo.

3. How to qualify step‑by‑step

To be in the running, you must do both of these within the same Qualifying Period:

Step 1: Sign up via the online form

  • During a Qualifying Period, submit the online sign‑up form for this campaign.
  • If you don’t sign up, even if you link PayNow, you won’t be counted as a Qualified Customer.

Step 2: Link PayNow

After signing up (still within that same Qualifying Period):

  • Link your DBS/POSB account to your mobile number using PayNow → S$5
  • Link your DBS/POSB account to your NRIC/FIN using PayNow → another S$5

You can do:

  • Both linkages → S$10
  • Only one linkage (NRIC/FIN or mobile) → S$5

Important:
All this must happen within the same Qualifying Period you signed up in.

4. Age groups and the “first 2,000” rule

Even if you meet all criteria, the reward is not unlimited. It’s first‑come, first‑served based on age group.

There are two age groups, each with their own cap:

  1. Age 54 and below (born 1972 onwards)
    • First 2,000 Qualified Customers per Qualifying Period
  2. Age 55 and above (born 1971 or earlier)
    • First 2,000 Qualified Customers per Qualifying Period

Example:

  • Someone born on 2 Jan 1971 falls into the “55 and above” group.

So per Qualifying Period, there can be:

  • Up to 2,000 winners in the younger group
  • Up to 2,000 winners in the older group

Once that quota is filled, later customers—even if they did everything right—won’t get the cash for that period.

5. When you’ll get your cash

You won’t see the money instantly. The bank needs time after each period to validate everyone.

You’ll receive the cash into your active PayNow‑linked DBS/POSB account by these dates:

Qualifying Period
Cash credited by
1 Jan – 28 Feb 2026
30 Apr 2026
1 Mar – 30 Apr 2026
30 Jun 2026
1 May – 30 Jun 2026
31 Aug 2026
1 Jul – 31 Aug 2026
31 Oct 2026
1 Sep – 31 Oct 2026
31 Dec 2026
1 Nov – 31 Dec 2026
28 Feb 2027

You should also receive a push notification (if you’ve enabled notifications) within 3 months after the Qualifying Period ends to let you know if you got the reward.

6. Which account will receive the prize?

If you:

  • Link Account A to your mobile number, and
  • Link Account B to your NRIC/FIN,

Then the prize will go into:

  • The NRIC/FIN-linked account (Account B) — this takes priority over the mobile‑linked account.

So if you care which account receives the reward, ensure you link your preferred account to your NRIC/FIN.

7. Common mistakes that can cost you the reward

Here are the easy ways to lose out:

1. Unlinking PayNow too early

If you unlink your DBS/POSB account from PayNow (mobile number and/or NRIC/FIN) during the Qualifying Period, you will be disqualified for that period.

Best practice:

  • Keep your PayNow registration active at least until the prize is credited (see the “Cash credited by” date for your period).

2. Account closed or suspended

If your PayNow-linked DBS/POSB account is:

  • Closed, or
  • Suspended

by the time the prize is credited, the cash reward will be forfeited.

3. Assuming you’ll get confirmation early

The bank cannot confirm your reward status upfront.

  • They need time after the period ends to validate eligibility and quota.
  • You’ll only know via:
    • Cash being credited, and
    • push notification (if enabled), within 3 months after the Qualifying Period ends.

There’s no “live tracker” to check if you’re among the first 2,000 for your age group.

8. Who is this for?

This promo is especially useful if you are:

1. New to PayNow with DBS/POSB

  • You haven’t registered PayNow with DBS/POSB in the last 6 months before a Qualifying Period.
  • You’ve been meaning to set it up but never got around to it.
  • You like the idea of sending and receiving money instantly using just a mobile number or NRIC/FIN.

For you, this promo is free money for doing something that will also make everyday transfers easier.

2. Anyone who wants hassle‑free transfers

If you regularly:

  • Split bills,
  • Receive small payments,
  • Pay friends, family, or small vendors,

then linking PayNow makes it easier for others to send money to you without asking for account numbers.

This campaign gives you an extra push to finally set it up—and get paid for it.

3. Those who enjoy optimising promos

If you’re the type who:

  • Tracks bank promotions,
  • Likes maximising rewards and bonuses,
  • Plans timing around campaigns,

then this promo is right up your alley. Just make sure you:

  • Fit the 6‑month no‑PayNow condition,
  • Sign up via the online form, and
  • Link both mobile and NRIC/FIN within the same Qualifying Period.

9. Final takeaway: How to lock in your S$10

Here’s your quick checklist:

  1. Check timing
    • Make sure you had no DBS/POSB PayNow registration in the 6‑month window before the Qualifying Period you’re targeting.
  2. Sign up via the online form
    • Do this during the Qualifying Period.
  3. Link both identifiers using PayNow
    • Link your mobile number to your DBS/POSB account via PayNow → S$5
    • Link your NRIC/FIN to your DBS/POSB account via PayNow → S$5
  4. Do not unlink
    • Keep your PayNow registration active until after the prize credit date for that period.
  5. Enable notifications
    • Turn on push notifications so you’ll be alerted if you’re among the first 2,000 in your age group and get the reward.
