POSB Everyday Credit Card

POSB Everyday Credit Card

A big chunk of your money goes to the same few things every month: food, transport, groceries, petrol, and the occasional JB trip?

The POSB Everyday Card is basically POSB’s way of saying:
“Since you’re going to spend on these anyway… might as well get paid for it.”

What’s the POSB Everyday Card in one sentence?

It’s a cashback credit card for regular, everyday spending in Singapore (and Malaysia), where you earn cash rebates called Daily$ on things like food, online shopping, SimplyGo, Sheng Siong, SPC, and Malaysia in‑store spend.

Daily$ = Cashback currency you can use to offset your spending.
Good news: Daily$ does not expire.

How you actually save with this card

Think of this card as a “multi‑tap savings switch” on categories you already spend on. When you use the card for certain things, the “rebate switch” turns on and money comes back to you in the form of Daily$.

To unlock the highest rebates (up to 10%), try to hit at least S$800 of eligible spend a month on the card.

1. Dining – eat as usual, get rewarded

What you get:

  • 10% cash rebates on online food delivery
  • 5% cash rebates on dining out islandwide

That means whether you’re:

  • Ordering GrabFood/Foodpanda/Deliveroo on a lazy Friday night, or
  • Eating at your neighbourhood zi char, café, or restaurant,

you can earn meaningful cashback, as long as you charge it to this card.

Important:

  • There’s a cap of Daily$20 per month for the bonus dining rebates.
  • Fast food is excluded from the bonus tier (so don’t expect 10% back on every McDonald’s supper).

Everyday example:
If you spend around S$300 a month on online food delivery and dining out combined, and much of that is eligible:

  • You could get back up to around S$15–S$20 in Daily$ (depending on mix of online vs dine‑in and caps).

2. Public transport with SimplyGo – tap and save

If you already use SimplyGo on buses and trains, this part is very straightforward.

What you get:

  • 10% cash rebates on bus and train rides with SimplyGo, when SimplyGo is linked to this card.

So your everyday commute from Punggol to Raffles, or Clementi to Buona Vista, can quietly earn you rebates in the background.

Catch:

  • Bonus rebates are capped at Daily$20 per calendar month (combined cap under certain categories).

3. Spending in Malaysia – especially handy for JB trips

This is a big plus if you:

  • Go Johor Bahru often for food and shopping
  • Make in-store purchases in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR)

What you get:

  • 10% cash rebates on in‑store spend in MYR in Malaysia.
That includes dining, groceries, shopping, entertainment, etc. – as long as it’s an in‑store transaction in MYR.

Do note:

  • Bonus rebates for this Malaysia spend are capped at Daily$20 per month too.
  • Usual overseas bank fees and FX rates still apply – you’re getting cashback, but it doesn’t remove foreign transaction fees entirely.

Example:
Spend RM400 (~S$115–S$120) in a day on food, massage, and groceries in JB. A portion of that could earn you 10% back (subject to caps and eligible merchant categories).

4. Online shopping & POPULAR – for the e‑commerce crowd

If you shop a lot online, this card gives decent rewards on some of the major platforms.

What you get:

  • 5% cash rebates on online shopping at:
    • Amazon.sg
    • Lazada
    • Shopee
    • Redmart
    • Taobao
    • TikTok Shop
  • 5% cash rebates at POPULAR (bookstores & online store)

Again, this is part of the bonus cashback structure, so:

  • There’s a Daily$20 cap per month for these bonus categories.

Example:
If you spend S$200 in a month across Shopee + Lazada + Redmart, that’s S$10 back in Daily$ (assuming it falls within the cap and eligible transactions).

5. Extra rebates with no minimum spend

This is where the card is useful even if you don’t hit S$800/month.

You still get:

a) Groceries – Sheng Siong

  • 5% cash rebates, capped at Daily$20 per month.
  • Great if your family already shops at Sheng Siong for weekly groceries.

b) Petrol – SPC

  • 6% cash rebates at SPC.
  • This stacks nicely with SPC’s own discounts + the usual credit card rebates.
  • If you drive and often pump at SPC, this can add up fast.

c) Pets – Pet Lovers Centre

  • 3% cash rebates on your pets’ food, toys, and essentials.
  • Minimum S$15 spend on regular‑priced items is required.

d) Everything else

  • 0.3% cash rebates on all other eligible spend (base rate).

Think of these as “always on” perks – you don’t need to be a big spender to benefit from them.

How Daily$ works (the cashback currency)

Instead of seeing a direct cashback line on your statement, POSB uses Daily$ as a reward currency.

You earn Daily$ when you spend

  • Each eligible transaction earns you a certain amount of Daily$, depending on the category and rate (10%, 5%, 6%, etc.).
  • Bonus parts are subject to monthly caps (e.g., Daily$20 per category/month).

You redeem Daily$ like “stored cashback”

You can check your balance via:

  • digibank online, or
  • DBS PayLah! app

Then use your Daily$ to:

  1. Offset in-store purchases instantly at:
    • Sheng Siong
    • SPC
    • Pet Lovers Centre
  2. Use via DBS PayLah!
    • Redeem to offset purchases made through the PayLah! app.
  3. Use via digibank online
    • Offset your credit card bill, or
    • Convert into KrisFlyer miles (for those who travel).
  4. Offset online purchases at selected merchants:
    • DBS Apple Rewards Store
    • Zalora
    • AXS
    • Shopee (via apps/websites listed on POSB)

Think of Daily$ like a small “wallet” of rebates sitting inside your POSB/DBS ecosystem, which you can deploy whenever you want.

Other goodies: Sign-up bonus & promos

1. Sign-up bonus (for new customers)

If you’re new to POSB/DBS credit cards, there’s often a promo (currently highlighted as):

  • S$388 cashback for new cardmembers using promo code “PED388”, subject to terms and minimum spend.

Banks frequently update their welcome offers, so always check the latest promo page and T&Cs before applying.

2. Lifestyle deals

Holding the card also gives you access to various ongoing promotions, for example:

  • Dining deals (Mastercard promotions, Wonderful Dining 1‑for‑1 offers, etc.)
  • Attractions & travel discounts:
    • Mandai Wildlife Reserve
    • Kiztopia
    • Disney On Ice
    • iFly Singapore
  • Fuel promos at SPC (like festive bundles or special discounts)
  • Extra Mastercard deals in Malaysia for shopping and dining across the Causeway

These change over time but are nice “bonus perks” on top of your main cashback.

Fees, age & income – what you need to qualify

Age requirement:

  • 21 to 75 years old

Income requirement:

  • Singaporeans / PRs:
    • Age ≤ 55: Minimum S$30,000 p.a.
    • Age ≥ 56: Minimum S$15,000 p.a.
  • Foreigners:
    • Minimum S$45,000 p.a.

Annual fees (including GST):

  • Principal card: S$196.20
  • Supplementary card: S$98.10 per card
  • 1-year annual fee waiver is provided.

Late fees & interest:

  • Late fee: S$100 if your outstanding is more than S$200.
  • Interest / finance charges: 27.8% p.a., charged daily and compounded.

In simple terms:
The card is great only if you pay your bills in full and on time. Once interest kicks in, any cashback you earn can be easily wiped out.

Who is this card for?

This card works best if you:

  1. Eat out or order in regularly
    • Online food delivery + dining out a few times a week.
  2. Take public transport daily
    • Use SimplyGo for bus and MRT rides.
  3. Shop at Sheng Siong or pump petrol at SPC
    • Families doing big grocery runs.
    • Drivers who usually fuel up at SPC.
  4. Love online shopping
    • Regularly shop on Amazon.sg, Lazada, Shopee, Redmart, Taobao or TikTok Shop.
  5. Visit Malaysia frequently
    • Make in-store purchases in Malaysian Ringgit: food, groceries, shopping.
  6. Can hit around S$800 a month in card spending comfortably
    • Without spending more than you normally would.
    • This helps unlock the higher 5–10% cashback tiers.

If you mostly spend on rent, utilities, and bills with few dining/transport/grocery/online purchases, this card may be less optimal, and another type of card (e.g., general cashback or miles) might suit you better.

Final thoughts – Should you consider the POSB Everyday Card?

Think of the POSB Everyday Card as a Singaporean “cost‑of‑living helper”:

  • You’re not asked to spend on anything fancy.
  • It simply rewards the everyday things you already do – makan, commute, groceries, online shopping, fuelling up, and JB runs.

It’s especially strong if:

  • You’re a first-time credit card user looking for one main card, and
  • You’re disciplined enough to pay in full every month.

If that sounds like you, this card can genuinely help shave a bit off your monthly expenses, quietly, in the background.
